What should I look for when editing audio?

When editing audio, your main focus should be on clarity, consistent volume, and removing background noise. Make sure to keep levels balanced, cut out mistakes, and use effects sparingly to keep your audio sounding clean and natural.

What can an audio editor do?

An audio editing tool can help you improve the quality of your recordings by allowing you to cut out mistakes and dead air, or improve the clarity and reduce the background noise. Online audio editors like Flixier also allow you to access copyright-free sound effects and music that you can layer on top of your existing audio to make your content more immersive and engaging.

How hard is audio editing?

Audio editing can be difficult, but the right tool can make it a lot easier. Flixier, for example, was developed with beginners in mind. Our tool is intuitive and runs in your web browser, so you can always jump right in and start cutting, trimming, and enhancing your audio with just a few clicks, even if you have no previous audio editing experience.

Can I cut audio from video?

Yes, Flixier allows you to upload a video and then cut the audio separately from the video. All you need to do is right-click on the Video in the timeline and select Detach Audio. When you’re done, you can save the two together or save only the audio by choosing either Video or Audio as your format in the Export menu.

What are the best audio file formats for different uses?

Different audio formats suit different needs:

    • MP3 is best for sharing and streaming music or podcasts

    • FLAC is best for preserving the full quality of songs and albums

    • WAV is used in professional editing

    • AAC is great when you need to deliver high-quality audio in the smallest possible file size.
