Green Screen Removal

Flixier's Green Screen feature is a powerful tool that allows you to easily remove a solid background from your footage, making it simple to replace it with another environment.

How to Use the Green Screen Tool

1. Import your media and drag both your main subject video and your desired background on the timeline.
2. Place the video or image you want to use as a background on a track directly below the video containing the green screen subject.
3. Select the top video (with the subject) by clicking on it in the timeline.
4. Navigate to the Properties panel on the right side of the screen and select the Effects tab.
5. Scroll down to find the Green Screen section.
6. Click the solid color box to open the color selection menu.
7. You can use the eyedropper tool to click and select the exact background color directly from your video canvas.
8. Alternatively, you can type a specific hex code or choose a pre-saved color from your Brand Kit palette.
9. Once your color is selected, drag the slider located below the color box to adjust the removal strength.
10. As you move the slider, a numerical value will update on the right side to show your current intensity level.
11. At this step, the selected color will become transparent, revealing the video or image from the lower track.
12. If you need to undo your slider adjustment, you can click the circular reset arrow icon located on the far right of the slider.
