Motion Tracking
With motion tracking, you can pin text, stickers, and shapes to moving objects in a video to highlight movement, blur people's faces, censor parts of a video, and create an overall engaging video.
How to Use Motion Tracking
- Import a video and drag it to your timeline.
- Make sure you have the elements you want to attach (like text, shapes, or animations) added to a track above your video in the timeline.
- Select the main video, go to the Properties menu on the right side of the screen, select the Video tab, and click to expand the Motion Tracking section.
- Choose your preferred tracking type: Object Tracking, Face Detection, or Person Tracking. Face Detection works only on videos with one person. If you have multiple people in your video, please use the Object Tracking feature.
- Click the Analyze Video button and wait for the process to end.
- After the video has been analyzed, you can select an object to link: a blur mask, pixelate mask, or basic text.
- Click the Select to link button under the specific object you want to track.
- A new menu will appear. Use the Link To: dropdown menu to select the specific element from your timeline (like a shape, blur mask, or motion title) that you want to attach to the tracked movement.
- Click the blue Link button. Automatic keyframes will instantly be generated on your linked object's timeline track, matching the exact movement of the subject.
If you make a mistake or want to track something else, you can click the Reset Process button at the bottom of the menu to try another tracking type.
