AI Generation Inside the Timeline
Flixier features a unified AI generation window that opens directly over your active timeline, allowing you to create media without leaving the editor. The interface features three dedicated tabs at the top: Image, Video, and Audio.
Generating Images
- Select the Image tab to create static visuals.
- You can choose an initial reference by clicking the "Add start frame" icon. This dropdown allows you to choose from the timeline, capture from the canvas, select from your library, or upload from your device.
- Type your prompt into the "Describe your image..." text box.
- Click the AI Model button to choose an AI model.
- Configure your Aspect Ratio and Resolution settings.
- Use the "Number of Images" dropdown menu to generate 1, 2, 3, or 4 image variations at once if you want.
Generating Video
- Select the Video tab to create animated clips.
- Type your prompt into the "Describe your video..." text box, and use the Enhance button to have the AI automatically improve your description.
- Select your preferred generation model from the bottom menu.
- Adjust the Video Aspect Ratio and the Resolution.
- Set the desired generation Duration.
- Toggle the sound option On or Off.
Generating Audio
- Select the Audio tab to generate custom music or sound effects.
- Enter your prompt into the "Describe your audio..." text box.
- Choose an audio AI model.
- Set the track duration using the dropdown menu.
- If you want a vocal track, select both the Vocals and Lyrics buttons. Clicking Lyrics opens a pop-up window where you can manually write or paste your song lyrics and use structure markers.
- If you don’t want vocals, you can click the Instrumental button instead.
Finalizing the Generation
- Watch the diamond icon on the bottom right of the panel to see exactly how many credits your generation will consume.
- Once your settings are configured, click the Generate button to begin the process.
Working with Generated Clips on the Timeline
AI clips are generated directly in the timeline rather than living in separate galleries or folders, allowing you to easily compare different results and keep what works best.
When you select a generated clip on your timeline, you will see a small sparkle icon attached directly to the clip's boundary. Clicking this icon opens a quick-action menu:
- Extend video: Extend the footage using the last frame as a starting point.
- Generate from frame: Use a specific frame of the current clip as the starting reference to generate a completely new video from that exact point.
- Generate transition: If you click the sparkle icon located between two adjacent clips, you can choose this option to generate a custom AI transition so the footage connects naturally.
