AI Text Editor

The AI Text Editor allows you to edit videos directly through text. You can cut, trim, or restore sections of your video by only interacting with the transcript. 

Accessing the AI Text Editor

1. Add your video or audio clip to the Flixier timeline.
2. Click the Transcript tab on the left-hand menu.
3. Select the specific audio or video track you want to transcribe from the Select Track to transcribe section.
4. Configure your language settings by checking the Automatic language detection box, or uncheck it to open the What language is being spoken? dropdown and manually select your language from the list.
5. Click Get Transcript.

Once processed, your synchronized transcript will appear on the screen.

Navigating and Editing Your Video

• Jump to specific moments: Click any word in the transcript to instantly move the timeline playhead to that exact spot in the video.
• Trim sections: Highlight any portion of text in the transcript and click Trim to cut that segment out of the video.
• Restore deleted content: If you make a mistake, simply highlight the removed text section and click Restore to bring it back.
• Create clips: Highlight a specific sentence or paragraph and click Make a clip to isolate and export just that portion as a separate video file.
• Add media: Tap Add Media to open the dropdown menu. You will get 3 options to help you generate extra content for your video:
  • AI Sound Hook
  • AI Text Hook
  • B-Roll

Speeding Up Edits with AI Actions

The AI Actions menu (located at the top right of the transcript panel) automates the tedious parts of rough-cutting.

• Remove filler words: Automatically detects and deletes common filler words (like "um", "uh", or "ah"). You can review the list to choose exactly which ones to keep or toss.
• Remove silences: Strips out awkward pauses in speech automatically. Use the slider to set your minimum pause duration and see exactly how many seconds of silence are being cut.
• Auto Rough Cut: Trims the fat instantly by combining filler word removal, pause cutting, and repeating phrases. Use the slider to adjust how aggressive the cuts should be.
• Generate AI B-roll: Analyzes your text context to automatically insert relevant stock media or AI-generated images into your video. You can easily swap or delete these assets later.
