How to Export Your Timeline

Flixier allows you to export your timeline data so you can continue editing your project in other desktop software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro. This feature packages your cuts, track placements, and source media into a single downloadable file.

Supported Export Formats

You can currently export your Flixier timeline to the following formats:

  • Final Cut Pro 7
  • DaVinci Resolve
  • Adobe Premiere
  • CMX3600 EDL
  • Avid AAF

How to Export Your Timeline

  1. Open your project in the Flixier editor.
  2. Click the project menu icon (the three vertical dots) located in the top-left corner of the screen, right next to your project's name.
  3. Hover over the Export Timeline option to reveal the supported software list.
  4. Click on your desired format.
  5. You will receive an email and notification when the export is complete.

Downloading and Opening Your Files

  1. Check the inbox associated with your Flixier account.
  2. Open the email and click the Download Timeline Export button.
  3. You will download a .zip file named after your project.
  4. Extract the .zip file on your computer. Inside the folder, you will find your timeline file alongside the individual source media files used in your project.
  5. Import the timeline file into your designated desktop software to continue editing.

Timeline Export Limitations

Flixier cannot export timelines that contain media linked directly from certain third-party integrations.

  • If your timeline includes assets imported from GiphyYouTube, or Twitch, the system will block the process and display a red error message.
  • You must remove these specific assets from your timeline before attempting to export the project data to another software.
