Your payment didn't go through? Here's how to fix it
Your bank — not Flixier — decides whether a card payment is approved, and it often doesn't tell us why. Nothing has been charged, and nothing is lost. Here's how to get your plan active.
Try these first
1. Check every field. Card number, expiry date, CVC, billing address and postal code. All have to match exactly what your bank has on file. The postal code is the most common one people get wrong: it's the address your bank has, not your current address.
2. Complete your bank's approval step. Many banks (especially in Europe and India) send a push notification from their mobile app or an SMS code to confirm the purchase. If you missed it or closed the window, the payment fails silently. Try again and keep your phone ready.
3. Confirm the card allows online purchases. Some cards, particularly prepaid cards and cards issued for local use, block online or international payments by default. Try another credit or debit card and check with your bank if you have any limitations for online purchases of recurring subscriptions.
4. Confirm the card isn't expired. Expired cards can't be recovered. You'll need to add a new one.
5. Check your available balance and daily limit. These are different things. A card with money on it can still decline if you've hit a daily spending cap.
Use a different payment method
Often faster than troubleshooting the card. We accept:
- PayPal
- Apple Pay (Safari on Mac/iPhone)
- Google Pay
- UPI (India)
- Any major credit or debit card
If your card keeps failing, try one of the above. It usually works immediately.
If it still fails, call your bank
Some declines come back to us with no reason at all — the issuer just says no, and we have no way to investigate why. Call the number on the back of your card and say:
"I'm trying to pay for an online subscription, and it's being declined. Can you approve it?"
Ask them to allow:
- Online and international purchases
- Recurring subscription charges
- Any block or limit on the card
Banks can usually clear it while you're on the phone. Then try to purchase again.
Common situations
"My bank says it was approved, but Flixier says it failed."
You're seeing a temporary authorization hold, not a real charge. It disappears on its own, usually within 5–7 business days. No money leaves your account.
"I see several pending charges."
Each failed attempt can leave a hold. None of them is an actual charge — they expire on their own. You've only been charged if the payment succeeded and you received a receipt.
"My card works everywhere else."
Very common. Many cards block subscriptions or international merchants by default until you ask your bank to allow them.
"What will this look like on my statement?"
It appears as Flixier.
"Can I keep using my free account while I sort this out?"
Yes. Your free account and your projects are unaffected. A failed payment doesn't change anything about your account.
Still stuck?
Contact support at support@flixier.com with the date of the attempt and the last 4 digits of the card. Never send us your full card number or CVC — we can't accept them and don't need them.
We can't see why your bank declined the payment, but we can confirm whether the attempt reached us at all, which helps narrow down the problem.
