AI Text to Video

With Flixier’s Video GPT tool, you can generate a complete video in minutes using a simple text prompt.

Step 1: Open Video GPT

You can access this tool from two different places:

From the Dashboard: Go to the All Tools menu on the left side of your screen and click on the Video GPT tile under the "For video" section.
From the Editor: Open an active project, click the Generate tab on the left-side menu, and click Video GPT under the "AI Shortcuts" list.

The way you enter your prompt depends on where you started the tool:

From the Dashboard: Type the subject of your video into the main text box. You can use the buttons below the box to import images or change the video length using the "Short" dropdown. If you need inspiration, click one of the suggested topic chips to give the AI a starting point.
From the Editor: Click a topic category and fill in the specific details below it, such as your Title, Tone, and Target Audiences. Click the Continue button to let the AI write your script.

Before the video is created, you must review the script.

From the Dashboard: You can choose your visual style at the very top (Stock Videos, AI Images, or AI Videos). Read the text in the "Script" box. If needed, use the Rewrite section below it to change the Tone of voice, adjust the Target audience, or use the fast rewrite buttons to Make it shorter or Make it longer.
From the Editor: Read through the generated text. Click the AI Assistant button to open a menu where you can quickly Rewrite, Shorten it, or Make it longer.
Select a Voice: Regardless of where you started, click the voice dropdown menu at the bottom of the screen to select your preferred AI voice profile.
Once everything looks perfect, click the Generate Video button.

What happens next depends entirely on how you launched the tool:

If you started from the Dashboard (Quick Edit): You will be brought to the Quick Edit screen. You will see a live video preview in the center. Use the three tabs on the right to customize it:
- Captions: Turn the Show captions and Show emoji toggle switches ON or OFF. Click on any of the preset styling blocks to instantly change how your text looks.
- Media: Click the + Upload file button to add your own custom logo, or swap out the individual video clips the AI selected.
- Voiceover: Pick a different AI Speaker from the list, or click to clone your own voice.
If you started from the Editor: The generated video, voiceover, subtitles, and emoji effects will be placed directly onto your timeline tracks at the bottom of your screen. You can immediately use all of Flixier's standard editing tools to trim, move, or add effects to these elements.

From Quick Edit: Once you are happy with your customizations, you can either click the blue Export button in the top right corner to download your video, or click the Edit more (or Full Edit) button at the top to import the project into Flixier's main video editor for deeper timeline edits.
From the Editor: Simply click the blue Export button in the top right corner of the interface when you have finished editing your timeline.
