How to Move a Premiere Pro Project to Flixier

Currently, Flixier does not support direct timeline file imports (such as XML or EDL files) from desktop editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro.

If you want to move an ongoing Premiere Pro project into Flixier, there is no automatic import project button. You’ll need to manually import your media and rebuild your timeline. Depending on what you are trying to achieve, there are two ways to handle this workflow:

Method 1: The "Flattened Video" Approach (Recommended)

If you have already edited the bulk of your video in Premiere and simply want to use Flixier for finishing touches, like generating auto-subtitles, adding AI voiceovers, or quickly resizing the video for social media, you don’t need to rebuild your project.

1. Export from Premiere: In Adobe Premiere, export your current timeline as a video file.
2. Upload to Flixier: Open a new project in Flixier, click the Import or Record button, and upload your video file.
3. Finish in Flixier: Drag the video onto your Flixier timeline. You can now use Flixier's automatic subtitle generator, add animated GIFs, add an AI voiceover, or apply stock music over your edited video before doing your final export.

Method 2: Manually Rebuilding the Project

If you absolutely must have independent, editable clips on your Flixier timeline so you can continue the core editing process, you will need to manually migrate your assets:

1. Gather Your Assets: Locate all the raw video, audio, and image files on your computer that you used in your Premiere Pro project.
2. Import to Flixier: Open a new project in Flixier, click Import or Record, and upload all of those raw media files into your Flixier Library.
3. Rebuild the Timeline: Drag your media files from your Flixier Library down to the timeline. You will need to manually recreate your cuts, transitions, and track layers to match what you had in Premiere Pro.
